Another Great Video Find – Crimp On BNC Connector Installation

I noticed that Eric had posted a link to some CCTV Youtube Videos and, while I was browsing through them, saw something that I wouldn’t have expected. One of ApexCCTV’s Videos, a simple tutorial for crimping a BNC connector on RG59 cable, had over 19,000 hits and a 5-star rating. I decided to post it here, hoping that others needing assistance will find it helpful.

The video is below, and the person doing the demonstration walks through the process of attaching the connector to the cable very thoroughly.

When we’re in the industry like we are, I suppose we take for granted the things that we do on a daily basis and don’t account for the average consumer that can learn a lot from a video like this.

There are tons more videos out there detailing security and surveillance installation and configuration procedures, like Eric pointed out, so it’s always worth doing a quick YouTube, Vimeo or Google search to see if your problem is covered visually, rather than calling in and trying to decipher what some technician has to say!
